Sad news: Our friend Merv Conn died December 20.

The funeral is Thursday, December 22, at 12:30 pm at:

Burial will follow immediately after the funeral (approximately 2 pm) at:

In case you don't go to the funeral home or you get lost, here are easy directions. It's not far from the Beltway. From 495 take Exit 28-B to merge onto MD-650 N/New Hampshire Ave toward Takoma Park. Really no merge area, but immediately get into the left lane. At the second light (not far) turn left on Adelphi Road. Go a short distance; the cemetery is on your left. The grave site is to the left after the entrance. You'll probably have to park on the hill straight ahead and walk back.

After the short service at the grave site, there will be Shiva where the family will receive visitors at Merv's home, 1015 South Noyes Drive, Silver Spring, MD (301-565-2054). The easiest way to get there is again from 495. Take Exit 31-B onto MD-97/Georgia Ave. toward Silver Spring. Pass the short commercial area. Go several blocks to Noyes Drive and turn left. (You will see the Woodside Synagogue on your left.) Continue a few blocks to where the road forks and bear right. The house is the first one on the left. It's a red brick Tudor-style home with a long driveway. You'll most likely have to park on the street. (Be sure to bear right at the triangle because if you go left, you'll be on North Noyes Drive and there is a 1015 there, too, much to the Postman's dismay.)

Thursday, 12/22: 12:30 service at funeral home; 2:00 grave side service (short)

Then Shiva (family will receive visitors) at Merv's home, concluding with an 8:00 p.m. Minion
(evening service)

Friday, 12/23: 12 noon to 4:15 Shiva, family will receive visitors at Merv's house. (The Sabbath begins at 4:32 p.m. and there is no Shiva on the Sabbath.)

Saturday, 12/24: Shiva at 7:30 p.m. with Minion at 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, 12/25: Shiva, family will receive visitors from 12 noon till evening.
